Try using the smallest scizzors you can find at the beauty supply store and try not to let the pup see them. Have someone help hold and talk to the dog while you are doing this. You need to coo at him while you are doing it also and keep telling him what a good boy he is. .I found that mine is more afraid of the sound of cutting that anything else. He lets the vet take the clippers to his ears and it doesn't bother him at all! The vet suggested a professional groomer though and I think he's right. Take him once and watch how it is done. It might prove to be a one time good deal investment in the end. Good luck and enjoy that booful boy.

You may need to go to scissors so that he isn't bothered by the noise. Carefully stroke him and take small snips. Be patient because it will take a while. You may have to snip for 5 minutes, then play with him for 10. If he doesn't settle down, you may need to get the face clipped by a professional groomer.

Well I did this today with a rescue dog that does not know me, I took time brushing her, Combed part of her hair on top forward and trimmed about an inch from her eyes, all the while holding her muzzle firmly. For the muzzle, I held her close, brush part of the mouth hair and did a few quick snips. Turned her around and did the same. I think holding her firmly was the trick. I usually groom my poodles. So have a little experience.

when in doubt, cough up the cash and go to the groomers
