Do flights in Europe or Asia have the same rediculous security requirements as in the US?

On domestic flights in Europe, Australia, or elsewhere in the world, are you allowed to bring "dangerous" things like nail clippers, shaving razors, hair gel and bottles of water through security at airports or are they equally paranoid in the rest of the world as well?

no. of course not.

Asian airports vary in their degree of security checks. Singapore's Changi probably has the most well thought out security screening, and it is really almost unnoticable. Manila is a disasterous mess - and as one might guess, imposed by the Americans. Malaysian airports are reasonable. Others vary from little or none, to silly.

Whatever, it's best not to argue too much with the security folk.
