Thats what happened to my son when he was 4 yrs old i cut his hair and his curls disappeared. he has straight hair now.

I am not sure but I did the same thing and my sons curls never returned either, I have a 11 month old and refuse to cut those curls!!

I DON'T KNOW BUT MY 5 YEAR OLD HAD SUPER CURLY HAIR AND I LOVED IT. HER HAIR WAS SUPER LONG AND SHE NEEDED TO LOSE A LOT OF LENGTH, I ALSO THOUGHT IF I CUT IT HER CURLS WOULD SPRING BACK UP BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T HAVE SO MUCH WEIGHT! bUT HER CURLS COMPLETELY DISSAPEARED. SO WHEN YOU FIND OUT LET ME KNOW K!!

i'm not taking any chances. my little one has a headful of long curly hair. the springy kind! tooooo cute! and it's so long! i just love her hair and i have no plans to cut it.

Would it matter if the hair is fair or dark? Because I was born with curly hair and mom cut it many times, I went through an afro phase too at 2 years old hehehe yet anyway it still is curly to this day. ( i have dark hair) Just a thought anyway.
